The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

Scenario: Through her meetings with various organisations, Jacqueline recognised that many business owners were unaware of the new data protection regulation (GDPR) that would come into effect on 25th May 2018. She also recognised that many small business owners lacked the time to conduct the research about the regulation.

To avoid the heavy penalties for non -compliance and to minimise business risk, Jacqueline designed and facilitated a be-spoke course targeted for small businesses. This short course provides an overview on GDPR, the steps to take to prepare the business for the regulation along with examples and templates for business owners to refer to.

Some of the testimonials from the course include…

Louise Love, CEO, Care and Repair Edinburgh

“Jacqueline provided a very informative and focused GDPR overview session this morning. This will now enable me to ensure that my organisation takes the necessary steps to become compliant, including ensuring that all staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills that they require to take up the GDPR implementation challenge with effect from 25 May 2018. Many thanks for your help and support with this.”

Ian Chisnal, Managing Director, Printing Services Scotland Ltd

“We are a commercial print company based in Dunfermline concerned about the implications of data protection regulation with regard to our business activities. We found the seminar to be very informative and worthwhile in ascertaining the situation. Jacqueline is clearly well versed in the intricacies of data protection and her professional communication skills made for a comprehensive and interesting seminar.  Most important of all was her ability to discuss the issues in layman’s terms understandable to all.  We are more than happy with the outcome as we now feel sufficiently informed to carry out the required documentation in house. Many thanks to Jacqueline.”

Elaine Aitken, Travel consultant, Not just travel

“The GDPR event was very informative, I went with very little understanding about what I needed to do. However, left with the knowledge I need to stat to put processes in place. Jacqueline ensures the environment is comfortable and relaxed so you don’t feel out of place asking the easiest of questions”

Elizabeth Anne Cotterell- Wilkie, Director of Davaar House Hotel Ltd, Dunfermline

“This course is informative and Jaqueline was very helpful and engaging and also went the extra mile and contacted the ICO (information Commissioners Office) on a query I had after the course had finished – that’s value added service with a smile.

I would recommend this short course to anyone who has not already started their GDPR journey it’s a great foundation for starting to become GDPR Compliant, especially for small business owners like myself who don’t always have the time to do the research and need a nudge in the right direction of how to go about it, although I must warn you, you don’t know what you don’t know and when you do your head hurts, start now don’t leave it too late, book on to one of Jaqueline’s courses, it will be a good investment in the long run.”

    Hilary Warnock, MD, 999Goodsamaritan

“I attended the GDPR course with my business manager.  Jacqueline had arranged the course in a beautiful small hotel where we were well catered for.   She welcomed each of us by name and impressed me throughout the morning by remembering everyone’s name.   The course content was well delivered and all aspects were explained clearly.   We left the meeting understanding what we have to do to achieve compliance for GDPR.  For attendees who required further assistance in specialist areas, Jacqueline provided contact details. Overall, a worthwhile, well run, clear and concise course.”

Elizabeth Cullen, Director, Chemistry made clear

“I attended Jacqueline’s workshop on GDPR for small businesses last week and would thoroughly recommend this course. Jacqueline provides all the information needed for GDPR clearly and definitely helps to identify what small business owners need (or do not need) to do to comply with legislation.”
