How does on-the-job training increase productivity?

2023 has been a busy year so far. I am looking forward to winding down for the summer holidays. This year, one of my highlights, has been supporting my client, a biomedical company. It is a client that I’ve had the honour to support for a while now. They provide medical solutions for patients who suffer from conditions like cataracts or joint problems. So they must maintain high quality and safety standards. To assist with this, I designed and delivered a bespoke ‘Train the Trainer’ course for their operational staff that provides on-the-job training. Unlike classroom-based training, ‘on-the-job training’ is geared toward those delivering training to one or two persons at a time on how to complete a task to the standard required.

As humans, we learn better by doing. Training employees while they work in the role helps them learn the necessary skills faster and in a way that is more relevant to them.

On-the-job training can be a cost-effective form of onboarding that encourages employee confidence. By helping new employees adapt faster to their job, you’re developing their skills and encouraging career progression. You’re also contributing to a more effective, productive, and satisfied workforce.

If interested to develop your skills as an on-the-job trainer or a Business owner looking to develop the training skills of your team, then get in contact to discuss further.

It’s great to receive all the wonderful feedback about the course. Here’s an example of feedback received.
