How to create a sense of common purpose?

Scenario: A family- run company that had acquired several smaller companies was keen to develop team working relationships, particularly as some of their branches are located in remote areas of Scotland.

To encourage a sense of working as “one Company,” Jacqueline facilitated teambuilding sessions for all their staff (around 80 staff.)

Each teambuilding session included staff from the various branches so that they could meet their colleagues. As an MBTI practitioner, Jacqueline included within each session the MBTI (Myers Briggs Type Indicator) personality profile tool to raise employees’ self-awareness of their own and their colleagues’ preferred style of communication and approach to work. To add, the session included a section on how best to work together going forward. Through the facilitation process, the group were able to identify solutions to support them in being able to work more effectively.

Jacqueline was recommended for this work by a member of the Company’s Senior Leadership team who had seen the value of the work undertaken by Jacqueline for another family-owned business.
